Sherry D. Henderson attended The Tennessee Williams Festival activities in her hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi and her alma mater Coahoma Community College.

The National Civil Rights Museum
Visiting The National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN. Sitting behind Rosa Parks' famous posture in history is a powerful remembrance of one of the ultimate sacrifices for equality. An inspiration for the theme of equality in Black Magnolia: An Unequivocal Southern Belle.

The Lorraine Motel is now home to the National Civil Rights Museum, its exhibits trace the history of the civil rights movement in the United States from the 17th century to the present. The exhibits guide visitors through five centuries of history, from slave resistance to the numerous protests of the American civil-rights movement.
